Log Week-end
Hi folks, it looks like we'll be doing the logs on the Weekend of May 3 and 4. This is the week end before Mother's Day, but it is Mom's weekend at OSU. This is a good weekend to stay close to home!
We will be needing the following:
1. a chain saw, we have, but someone who is not afraid to use it.
2. a log mover, I think I can get one from the person who bought my house, but we can rent one, if necessary.
3. Individuals to help. Please advise me if you're helping.
4. Places to put these prepped logs. The logs for firewood will prabably be put behind the garages or at the end of the garages to be chopped for firewood. Logs for habitat will be put in the areas left wild. Logs and/or wood for peoples pet projects need to be moved the areas near their units. So if you want some of this wood please be on hand to claim it and/or make arrangements. Logs for projects will be placed near the work shop.

We know that our family is not alone in both having struggles AND having much to celebrate. We hope you will join us for a dance party in the Common House for a time of celebration and serious dancing.
When: Saturday, May 3rd - 7:00 PM until "not too late"
Where: Common House
Preparation: Please get us a favorite dance song or two (via e-mail - jwalker.keleher@gmail.com) or a CD with your name on it and, if you would like the information shared, a short message as to the meaning the song(s) has for you. We will create a playlist on an ipod so no one need interrupt their dancing to tend to the music (unless you are a closet DJ and feel like demonstrating your talents...).
Food: If you feel so inclined, please bring a dessert (that meets your dietary preferences) that you can share.
We recognize that parents might need to tag-team in order to participate after a certain hour, but kids are heartily welcome to come and show us "how its done" before their bedtimes.

Book Tour/Slide Show Talk on Dam Nation, Notes from the Water Underground
Peter E's son Cleo will be giving a book tour/ slide show talk on his book "Dam Nation, Notes from the Water Underground" 2007, Softskull Press, at the Common House on Sunday May 11, at 7:00 PM. He will also be meeting with interested Cohoots on Sunday afternoon, for a tour of our grounds, and buildings to check out our water practices and possible grey water use, etc.
The book tour talk will be open to Coho and the wider community. |

Sharing Circle for Stacey
Stacey will be receiving her degree as a pharmacist this June. She has requested a sharing circle to focus on the struggle she experiences between traditional vs. natural/herbal approaches to medicine. After the many hours that she has spent studying scientific evidence and how things work in the body, she finds herself unsure when to offer assistance and how it may be received. The circle is scheduled for 6:30pm on Tuesday, May 20 in the Guest Room. As always, please arrive on time and plan to stay for the entire circle, which may last two hours.
